Opened in 1998 by the Guinan family, Linwater caravan park offers spacious grass and hard standing pitches; all with electric hook up; for motorhomes and caravans.
There is a sheltered area for tents, also with optional electric and a small collection of Glamping units known as timbertents for those campers who like a bit more comfort! All pitches provide space for you to park a car alongside.
Open all year round is our luxurious self catering Lodge sleeping up to 5 in 2 en suite bedrooms. It has a fully equipped kitchen, lounge and diner opening onto decking with outside seating and barbecue.
Our Scandinavian style amenity building offers excellent facilities including free showers and privacy cubicles; a Disabled bathroom and baby changing area; Dish Washing sinks and Laundry facilities with sink, washer and tumble dryer.
In reception we have a small shop which provides some of the basics including home laid free range eggs, bacon, toiletries, gas, soft drinks and sweets. For other convenience goods there is a host of shops in the local village including a Post Office, Tesco Express and Co-op. If you don’t fancy cooking there are takeaways of worldly variety that will deliver to the park.
New for 2017 we have a fabulous playpark for the kids and there is quick access to many beautiful walks and cycle tracks from the park. A sheet of walks is available in Reception to help you explore. The canal feeder runs through the property and provides a path to the Almondell Country Park and Union Canal. Ideal for family trips or a nice walk with the dog.
In the reception area there is an abundance of tourist information to help you plan your stay; whether it is to venture into Edinburgh; a local visit or something a bit further afield, you will find all the information you need to make arrangements!
We have easy access to all routes north and south, and are within driving distance of the Falkirk Wheel, the Kelpies, Linlithgow and Stirling. Glasgow, Perth and St Andrews are a bit further, but make great day trips from the Park.
Many people visiting with their dogs also want to visit Edinburgh and although dogs are welcome on the tram/buses it does limit you to what you can do. We do not permit dogs being left unattended at your pitch for their own safety and the comfort of other customers; but if you wish to leave your dog Station View Kennels locally at Kirknewton offer boarding for a day or overnight to give you time to explore the wonders of the city.
Preservation of our beautiful environment is important to us at Linwater. Holders of the David Bellamy Gold Conservation Award we are always looking for ways to help our environment, reduce waste and recycling as much as possible.
At our disposal area, as well as a clean motorhome waste disposal point, we offer recycling bins for paper, glass, plastic, cardboard and cans. We also encourage reduced food waste by offering a food drop off point for preservable (dry or canned) foods you no longer need. There is a Herb Garden on the park that you can use whilst you are staying and in reception we have a nature watch book which we encourage visitors to complete if they see any unusual wildlife whilst walking around the area. Recent spotting have included otters, deer and Heron!
Television reception in the Park is very good, and we are now fully digital. For visitors wanting to access the internet, we have wi-fi covering most of the Park; and although not super fast due to being in the countryside; allows you basic use of the internet to keep in touch with friends and make holiday plans! (Perhaps fiber will reach Linwater one day!)
